BRICKNASTY

Given that they only have been making music since 2020, Bricknasty certainly have packed a lot in during that period. Their meteoric rise was meant to see them support Maverick Sabre just before their Limerick appearance, but this had to be rescheduled due to Covid. Despite this, the group still gave one of the tightest performances we have ever seen in Limerick.

Sexy guitar licks, ably backed by some popping bass lines, stabbing keys and snapping snares were the order of the day as Fatboy treated us to his soulful and sultry vocals.

I discovered Bricknasty originally through a recording that ended up on Soundcloud produced by the boy wonder, Sam Healy. Sam, who is still only 17 is one of Cork’s rising stars and it was great to have in the house on the night. As well as being a brilliant producer, Sam is also an accomplished guitarist and gave an impromptu performance with the band.

Bricknasty left the Record Room baying for more while DJ Sarah Lynch had the crowd dancing through the night.
