MAKEAMOVE IN ASSOCIATION WITH PRIMA VOLTA PRESENTS: SHOOKRAH AND APRIL 05-10-2019
Make A Move has been one of the best music festivals in Limerick over the past couple of years and integral to the development of the local hip-hop scene so we were delighted to be asked to curate the headline event for the 2019 edition.
Keeping in line with the festival ethos we began the night with new and emerging talent. April Lawlor is a singer/songwriter from Kildare who generated plenty of appreciation on the night with her smooth jazz and hip-hop influenced productions and stunning voice, definitely one to watch out for.
Headliner Shookrah, a group that has been pushing the boundaries of Irish neo-soul in new and exciting directions over the last few years, followed April. Fronted by the mighty Senita on vocals, the band treated us to plenty of new material from their debut record and the energy levels of the night were brought up another notch when Rusangano Family legend God Knows jumped up on stage for the track ‘Reformer’.
